Solar Energy Related Activities

Activities related to solar energy are multi-fold and cover aspects of research and education. In addition, the faculty and students work with the Facilities Department to promote implementation of Solar Energy projects on campus.

SOLAR ENERGY RESEARCH

PARC : Photosynthetic Antenna Research Center ( A $ 20 Million EFRC funded by USDOE)

SERIIUS: Solar Energy Research Institute for India and US (A $ 25 Million Center funded by USDOE)

BMS: Battery Management Systems (A $ 3 Million ARPA-E Center)

SOLAR ENERGY AND THE CAMPUS AS A LIVING LABORATORY

Washington University in St. Louis promotes the use of renewable energy systems to power its campus as an overall effort to use "clean energy" systems. Students at the University have to be credited with the installation of the first set of solar panels on Olin Library. Brauer Hall has a set of Solar PV systems installed on the roof.
